ONE BILLION CONTRIBUTION TO EDUCATION IN 4.5 YEARS FROM KARATAY MUNICIPALITY

129 NEW CLASSROOMS IN KARATAY IN THE LAST 4.5 YEARS

The foundation of Karatay Municipality Osman Benliler Primary School, which will be brought to the district by Karatay Municipality and will cost 40 million TRY in total, was laid with a ceremony. Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca, who underlined that they have invested over one billion TRY in education in the last 4.5 years and that they have brought 129 new classrooms to Karatay so far, said, "Every classroom opened and every contribution to education will bring our country one step closer to its dreams and goals. We, as Karatay Municipality, offer support for high-quality education and training in our Karatay."  

The foundation of Karatay Municipality Osman Benliler Primary School with 24 classrooms to be brought to Nakipoğlu Neighbourhood by Karatay Municipality was laid with a ceremony.

The project, which started to rise on a construction site of 4222 square meters, will have 24 classrooms, as well as Visual Arts and Music Workshops, a library, two activity and game rooms, and a preschool refectory. 

Tahir Özer, the Deputy Mayor of Selçuklu Municipality, Mehmet Genç, the Karatay District Head of the AK Party, Hülya Işık, the Karatay District Women's Branch Head of the AK Party, benefactor Osman Benliler, district officials, headmen, journalists, and citizens attended the groundbreaking ceremony.

In his speech, Hasan Kılca, the Mayor of Karatay Municipality, underlined that they have provided more than one billion TRY in support of education in the last 4.5 years since they took office as a municipality.

Mayor Hasan Kılca said, "Every classroom opened and every contribution to the education system will bring Turkey one step closer to its dreams and goals. Building schools is the work of those who have concerns about tomorrow. We, the Karatay Municipality, although it is not among our fundamental duties, have made great investments in education, and we continue to do so. As the municipality, we have brought many schools and educational facilities to our Karatay in the past 4.5 years. The current investment cost of 12 schools and educational facilities has reached a total of 971 million TRY with the school we laid the foundation of today and the school under construction in our Kızören neighborhood. Together with our other support for education, this figure exceeds one billion TRY. We are increasing the number of classrooms we have brought to our Karatay to 129. We have brought Karatay Science and Art Centre, Sezai Karakoç Imam Hatip Secondary School with 24 classrooms, Hamzaoğlu Primary School with 24 classrooms, Köprübaşı Mevlana Kindergarten with 8 classrooms, Hamzaoğlu Kindergarten with 8 classrooms, Karatay Culture and Art Academy with 8 classrooms, Kızören High School with 4 classrooms, and Nakipoğlu Primary School with 24 classrooms to our district. We built the Fetih Quran Course and Köprübaşı Quran Course at two different points in our district center. We brought Akabe, Hacısadık, and Çatalhüyük study centers to our neighborhoods. In short, we continue to make all kinds of investments related to education in an organized manner together with our Directorate of National Education."

WE PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR HIGH-QUALITY EDUCATION AND TRAINING IN KARATAY

Mayor Hasan Kılca, who stated that they provide support for high-quality education and training in Karatay, continued his speech as follows: "We provided direct educational support to 100 thousand students in total. We provided a total of 450 thousand books to our schools and students, such as bag and stationery support, YKS registration fee support, 1000 TRY cash support for the first registration to the university, and subscriptions to TÜBİTAK Science Journals. We have established TUBITAK Science Libraries in all our schools in our district. Thanks to our cooperation with TUBITAK, modeled by municipalities all over Turkey, we have established popular science publications libraries in all 151 schools in our district. This work is a first in Turkey. We initiated our Karatay Robot Movement (ROBOKARATAY) project. We created coding workshops in 11 schools. We held the Karatay Robot Competition with the participation of more than 400 students from 45 schools. In the last two semesters, approximately 15 thousand students benefited from applied traffic training for all 4th graders. We also contribute to the motivation of our students with career programs, conferences, and seminars."

THE POWER OF A NATION IS MEASURED NOT BY ITS POPULATION BUT BY ITS TRAINED HUMAN POWER

Hasan Kılca, who emphasized that they never neglect education, one of the most basic needs of societies, said the following: "The power of a nation is measured not by its population but by its trained manpower. We, the municipality, will continue to provide all kinds of support for education. For four years, it has been a great pleasure to put into service the educational facility constructions that we have started in every corner of Karatay one by one and to be laying the foundation of a new one every day. The 12 new educational institutions we have put into service will contribute to the training of our new generations, who are well-equipped and have a vision. I would like to thank our benefactor. When we started the negotiations, he promised 10 million TRY of support. With his promise, we started the project, and the protocol works here. The tender was for work that will cost TRY 33 million + VAT, that is, approximately 40 million TRY. Our benefactor gave the good news that he could increase this figure. I thank him, who is the son of this place. May God accept his charity. Many generations will grow here. As a benefactor, Osman Benliler's name will live in our school. I wish all the best ."

THE SERVICE BAR IS RISING IN KARATAY

Murat Yiğit, the Konya Provincial Director of National Education, stated that Karatay Municipality has raised the quality bar of education in the district and wished aşş the best with the Karatay Municipality Osman Benliler Primary School for Konya and Karatay.

Murat Yiğit emphasized that the new educational facility will take its important place among the educational services: "The investments made by Karatay Municipality for the education of the district under the leadership of Mr. Hasan Kılca raise the quality bar of education in Karatay day by day. Sezai Karakoç Imam Hatip Secondary School, Hamzaoğlu Kindergarten, Mevlana Kindergarten, 23 Nisan Imam Hatip Secondary School additional building, 15 Temmuz Anatolian High School Indoor Sports Hall, artificial turf fields being built in the gardens of 30 different schools, summer courses, backpacks and stationery support given to all primary school first grade students, TÜBİTAK Science Technique and Science Child Journals delivered free of charge to our students are examples of these services. Nakipoğlu Primary School education building with 24 classrooms, the foundation of which we laid today, will also take its place in the series of valuable educational services. With these thoughts, I wish that the school we have laid the foundation for will bring good to Karatay, Konya, and our country, especially to the residents of the neighborhood. I would like to thank Mr. Hasan Kılca, Mayor of Karatay Municipality, and everyone who contributed to the construction of this work."

UNITY AND SOLIDARITY RETURN TO THE CITY AS PROSPERITY

Hasan Angı, the Konya Provincial Head of the AK Party, thanked those who contributed to the school. Stating that the unity and solidarity in Konya return to the city as prosperity, Provincial Head Hasan Angı said, "The cooperation between institutions in our city continues to grow the city and develop our neighborhoods. When our school is completed, it will contribute to the best education of our students with its infrastructure equipped with modern educational facilities. Our Mayor of Karatay Municipality, Hasan Kılca, not only brings municipal services to all neighborhoods and streets of the district but also carries out all kinds of cooperation to develop other public services together. At this point, I would like to thank our benefactor, Mr. Osman, Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca, and everyone who contributed to the establishment of the school in the district."

KARATAY MUNICIPALITY ACHIEVES UNPRECEDENTED SUCCESS IN TURKEY

Mustafa Hakan Özer, AK Party Konya Deputy, stated that Karatay Municipality has made important investments even in a short period of only one and a half months and said that this is a product of great effort and endeavor.

Mustafa Hakan Özer said; "Investing in education is an investment in the future. Today, we have laid the foundation not only for a building but also for our future. Konya has always been a sensitive city in terms of education. Our benefactors and municipalities support our Ministry of National Education at this point and serve our people and our city. When this school is completed, great statesmen and scientists who will change the destiny of our country and our city will come out from here. Since 1 June, when we look at what our Karatay Municipality has completed, Çimenlik Indoor Sports Hall, Nakipoğlu Martyr Specialist Dr. Ekrem Karakaya Healthy Life Centre, Karatay Hoş Kubbe, Mevlana Rose Garden, Karatay Culture and Art Academy opening, Martyr Mustafa Koçoğlu Park, Traffic Education Park, and Cafe Karatay opening last week, and today the opening of an extremely beautiful Primary School with 24 classrooms were brought to our city with the support of our benefactor. These investments appear as services that are unprecedented in Turkey. Realizing these services within 1.5 months is a work of effort and endeavor. I would like to thank once again on behalf of my city, our local administrations, mayors, Karatay Mayor, and his teammates who have realized all these. I wish that Karatay Municipality Osman Benliler Primary School with 24 classrooms will be beneficial."

After the speeches, the foundation of Karatay Municipality Osman Benliler Primary School with 24 classrooms to be brought to Nakipoğlu Neighbourhood was laid with prayers.
