HASAN KILCA: WE GET OUR DETERMINATION TO WORK FROM OUR LOVE OF KARATAY AND FROM THE PRAYERS OF OUR FELLOW CITIZENS

The official opening of the Nakipoğlu Martyr Specialist Dr. Ekrem Karakaya Healthy Life Center, which was brought to the Nakipoğlu Neighbourhood by the Karatay Municipality and named after Specialist Dr. Ekrem Karakaya, who was martyred in July last year, was held with a ceremony. Hasan Kılca, the Mayor of Karatay, who spoke at the opening of the center designed as a health complex, said the following; “Since 2019, when we took office, we, Karatay Municipality, have invested more than 100 million TRY only in health. We get our determination to work from our love of Karatay and from the prayers of our fellow citizens.

The official opening of the Nakipoğlu Martyr Specialist Dr. Ekrem Karakaya Healthy Life Center, which was brought to the Nakipoğlu District by the Karatay Municipality, was held with a ceremony.

THE CENTER WILL SERVE A WIDE AREA AS A 4-STOREY COMPLEX

The center, named after Specialist Dr. Ekrem Karakaya, who was martyred as a result of an armed attack in Konya last year, consists of three separate sections. In the Family Health Center section of the project which consists of three units, there will be Doctor-Nurse rooms with five units, Vaccination, Pregnant/Fetal Monitoring Rooms, a Laboratory, and Medical Intervention Room. In the Healthy Life Center, there will be an Oral and Dental Polyclinic, Smoking Cessation Polyclinic, Child Development Specialist Room, School Health Room, Psychologist Rooms,  Consultant Dietician Rooms for Healthy Diet, Physiotherapist Room, Physical Exercise Room, Pregnancy/Antenatal Class, Mammography Room, Reproductive Health and KETEM (Cancer Early Diagnosis, Screening, and Education Center) Consultancy in the Healthy Life Center section,  Training Meeting Hall, Emergency Room, Laboratory-Blood Sample Collection Room. In the Emergency Health Services Unit, there will be two Rest Rooms, a Shared Area, an energy area, and a parking lot.

WE HAVE INVESTED OVER 100 MILLION TL IN HEALTH IN 4 YEARS

 Hasan Kılca, the Mayor of Karatay, in his speech before the opening, said that they brought another investment to the district with the service quality standards determined by the Ministry of Health.

Mayor Hasan Kılca said; “We, the Karatay Municipality, care about investments that add value to our people, and we continue our benefit-centered services without pausing. If we lay the foundation one day, we open the next day. We receive this effort from our love for Karatay, and from the prayers of our fellow citizens of Karatay. We, the Karatay Municipality, have completed the construction of Nakipoğlu Martyr Specialist Dr. Ekrem Karakaya Healthy Life Center, which we laid the foundations of in June last year, and today we are officially opening our center. As a country, we have become role models in health. As a result of both the path followed during the pandemic period and the devoted efforts after the 6 February earthquakes, we have seen that Turkey continues to progress in a manner worthy of its 100th anniversary. We, the Karatay Municipality, are showing great effort to contribute and support this determination of our state and government. Since 2019, that is, only in the last four years, we, as a municipality, have added a Family Health Center to our Hayıroglu Neighborhood. We have also completed Selim Sultan Family Health Center , and we are about to complete our Karakulak Family Health Center. We are starting the construction of our Family Health Center in Sedirler, Akabe, and Doğuş Neighborhoods, again with the support of our benefactor. We hope to complete these projects in a short time. Our health investments, which we have made as a municipality, exceed 100 million liras in total, together with the infrastructure and landscaping.”

WE SERVE WITHIN THE FRAME OF THE VALUES OF OUR UNIQUE CIVILIZATION

Hasan Kılca, who underlined that Karatay has hosted many unique civilizations,  stated that they serve within the framework of the values ​​of the said civilization and continued his speech as follows; “Our Nakipoğlu Neighborhood needed a Family Health Center. We acquired the land from our Foundations Regional Directorate by barter. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our previous AK Party Konya Deputy, Mr. Hacı Ahmet Özdemir, for his support. As a result, we have brought our Healthy Life Center here. We made the tender for a parking area behind our center, and then a primary school with 24 classrooms, needed by our neighborhood. We hope we will lay the groundwork here soon. The center will serve our people at the standards determined and requested by the Ministry of Health. Our project is on an area of 1,500 square meters and has a construction area of 2,822 square meters.  In the basement of our 4-storey center, there is a sports and activity hall, prayer rooms, and a cafeteria. On the ground floor, there are rooms such as examination, medical intervention, vaccination, and pregnant/fetal monitoring rooms. On the first floor, there is a laboratory with oral and dental polyclinic, smoking cessation polyclinic, emergency medical intervention, child development, school health, data statistics, psychologists, social workers, and rest rooms. On the second floor, there is the room for the responsible physician, the pregnant class and lounge, the health rooms where healthy aging, dietitian physiotherapy, and women's health are prioritized, and the dietitian practice kitchen. Our Nakipoğlu Martyr Specialist Dr. Ekrem Karakaya Healthy Life Center with a cost of 30 million liras will contribute to our fellow citizens to receive health services in a more comfortable environment and in a modern facility.”

WE WILL KEEP THE NAME OF MARTYR DOCTOR EKREM KARAKAYA ALIVE IN KARATAY

Kılca, who reminded that they named the Healthy Life Center after Specialist Doctor Ekrem Karakaya, who martyred in the line of duty as a result of an armed attack in July last year, Kılca said; “Karatay is the center of loyalty beside tolerance. As a requirement of this loyalty, we will keep the name of our martyr doctor alive in Karatay. On this occasion, I wish God's mercy once again to our martyr doctor and my condolences to our Konya and all his family and friends. With these feelings and thoughts, I wish all the best with our Nakipoğlu Martyr Specialist Dr. Ekrem Karakaya Healthy Life Center for our Konya, Karatay, our neighborhood, our health community, and of course, all our fellow citizens.

It is a great honor for us to keep the name of Martyr Specialist Dr. Ekrem Karakaya alive at the facility.

Prof. Dr. Mehmet Koç, Konya Provincial Health Director,  who said that Nakipoğlu Martyr Specialist Dr Ekrem Karakaya Healthy Life Center is an exemplary model in health, said that they are also happy to keep the name of Specialist Dr Ekrem Karakaya alive in the center.

Prof. Dr. Mehmet Koç said the following; “ our Konya is gaining modern health facilities with the completion of new health investments, new protocols, and signatures on new projects due to the exemplary solidarity of our Ministry of Health, municipalities, and benefactors. This appears as the best example of the Konya model. As you know, we recently opened 83 health facilities with the participation of our Minister of Health, Mr. Fahrettin Koca. In the last five years, hundreds of models of health facilities have been added in our 31 districts with this model. We have been an exemplary city to our country by our Ministry of Health, both with these models and especially with the planning of the facilities. I would like to thank our Minister,  Governor, Deputies, Mayors, and all our benefactors for their support. This modern building, of which the land allocation and the entire building was built by the Karatay Municipality, and which was put into service in a very short time, is going to be brought into service. It has been a great honor for us that the name of our colleague Dr. Ekrem Karakaya, who was martyred in the line of duty at our City Hospital as a result of a malicious attack, will live on in our health complex. On this occasion, I once again gratefully commemorate our martyred brother. I condemn vehemently those who are involved in violence in health. In addition to the quality of service in health services, easy accessibility is also extremely important. On behalf of our ministry and my colleagues, I would like to thank our Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca for the land allocation and construction of this exemplary model building, which will provide preventive health services, family health, and emergency health services to our citizens in our neighborhood. I wish all the best with the facility for our Konya.”

OUR BIGGEST PRAYER IS THE PERMANENCE OF OUR UNITY AND STRENGTH

Remzi Karaaslan, the Konya Provincial Head of MHP stated that Konya municipalities act with the understanding of "let people live so that the state can live" and said the following; “It is worth of esteem that our Karatay Municipality commemorates the names who sacrificed their lives for human health in this way and keeps their names alive. We were expressing how important May 14 and May 28 were on every occasion. It turns out how right we were. Because our People's Alliance, led by our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is working heartily on the 100th anniversary of our Republic. Our biggest prayer is the permanence of our unity and health.  Once again, I wish all the best with the center.”

THERE IS AN ADMINISTRATIVE MENTALITY THAT USES EVERY MEANS AVAILABLE AT THE DISPOSAL OF PEOPLE

Hasan Angı, the Konya Provincial Head of the AK Party, also talked about the importance of the center, whose construction was completed by Karatay Municipality.

Provincial Head Hasan Angı said the following; “The area of our health facility has been empty for about 60 to 70 years. This area was evaluated as our Regional Directorate of Foundations led this project to serve this region and by mutual agreement. An administrative mentality that will use every means available in our country for the service of these people is really important. Under the leadership of our President, every effort is made under the coordination of all our public institutions, local governments, and especially our Governor.  Many facilities built by benefactors are also put at the disposal of citizens. This city is different. With full cooperation and harmony, we look at the future with much more hope. We lost a valuable doctor in a malicious attack in the line of duty. The name of our martyr doctor lives in our health facility. I wish mercy from Almighty God to all our healthcare professionals who were martyred in the line of duty. I pray for the protection of all our health professionals from all kinds of calamities and violence. I would like to thank the Mayor of Karatay and his team, who contributed to putting the project into service.”

I BELIEVE THAT THE CENTER WILL GAIN MORE STRENGTH IN HEALTH

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Uzbaş emphasized that protecting human health with great sensitivity and putting forward a healthy life is one of the most important elements of the social state understanding.

Mustafa Uzbas; “Thank God, with the steps taken under the leadership of our President, our country has gained a respectable and strong health system not only in our region but also all over the world. Great successes have been achieved against many negativities, especially the coronavirus pandemic that oppressed the whole world due to this system functioning properly. The biggest share in this success is undoubtedly our healthcare professionals. Our healthcare professionals, who do their duties without any problems in all conditions and situations, are also the insurance of the healthy life of our society. Nationally, we owe a debt of gratitude to our healthcare professionals. I believe that the Nakipoğlu Martyr Specialist Dr. Ekrem Karakaya Healthy Life Center, which was completed by our Karatay Municipality, will also gain more strength in health. I would like to thank our Mayor of Karatay, Hasan Kılca, and his team, who put this important center into practice.”

KONYA MODEL OF MUNICIPALISM ACTS WITH AN APPROACH THAT CONSIDERS EVERY AREA NEEDED BY HUMANS AS SERVICE AREAS

Mustafa Hakan Özer, the Konya Deputy of the AK Party, started his speech by wishing mercy to Expert Dr. Ekrem Karakaya, who was martyred as a result of a malicious attack last year.

Mustafa Hakan Özer, who stated that Turkey has achieved great success in almost every field during the time we left behind, said; “We have witnessed together that our country has taken a step from the bottom to the top, especially in health, within 21 years. In the early 2000s, our people were trying to be examined for a few minutes by waiting for hours in the early hours of the morning in hospitals and were held hostage in hospitals.   From those days until today, we have got healthcare facilities and hospitals with the comfort of a 5-star hotel. One of the most important factors in the progress of Turkey and our city is local governments and AK Party Municipality. The Konya Model of Municipalism acts with an understanding that considers every area that people need as a service area. Today, we are experiencing one of the most beautiful examples with this opening. During the election process, we visited five family health centers and two oral and dental polyclinics in our Karatay region together with our Karatay Mayor. We saw that our Karatay Municipality had completed three of them. This is the best indicator of the level of the Konya Model of Municipalism. I wish all the best to the Nakipoğlu Martyr Specialist Dr Ekrem Karakaya Healthy Life Center, which was brought to our Nakipoğlu Neighborhood, for Karatay and our city.”

THIS FACILITY IS AN INVESTMENT THAT INCREASES THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF OUR PEOPLE

Speaking at the opening, Vahdettin Özkan, the Governor of Konya, started his speech by wishing all the best to the Nakipoğlu Martyr Specialist Dr. Ekrem Karakaya Healthy Life Center, which was brought to the district by Karatay Municipality.

Governor Vahdettin Özkan, who specified the fact that the said facility was brought to Karatay together with its many functions, is worthy of respect, also stated the following; “Demonstrating such loyalty and appreciation to our brother Doctor Ekrem Karakaya, who was martyred while performing his sacred health service, is another point to be emphasized. The best service to be given to improve the living standards of our people is public healthcare organizations. Improving these services has been a tradition throughout history. In recent years, important studies have been carried out to activate and expand the public healthcare service of our state and to increase the quality of service. In addition to this, education, ethics, motivation, target focusing, and good communication are also very significant concepts. It is clear that our healthcare professionals, who are the leaders of public healthcare services, have an educational aspect as well as protecting our people's physical and mental health. The participation of our national education in this process is highly important. Therefore, we need to have goals, good communication, and motivation in order to increase our quality of life as a society. I wish this beautiful facility to contribute to the health, well-being, and individual development of our people, and once again I offer my condolences to our martyr doctor Ekrem Karakaya. No violence in health, no violence in society. Elimination of all kinds of violence is important not only legally and formally, but also ethical values and habits are important for parents to raise their children.  I wish all the best with the center for our Karatay, our Konya, and our people.”

After the protocol speeches, the official opening of the Nakipoğlu Martyr Specialist Dr. Ekrem Karakaya Healthy Life Center, which was brought to the Nakipoğlu District by the Karatay Municipality, was held after the prayers. Protocol members then examined the center and got information about the facility from the authorities.

FACILITY THAT TOUCHES TO MARTYR UZMAN DR. EKREM KARAKAYA'S COLLEAGUES

Assoc. Prof. Zafer Büyükterzi, a colleague of Konya City Hospital Specialist Dr. Şehit Ekrem Karakaya and the Head of the Cardiology Clinic, said; “Here, our people will be provided with primary healthcare service. The facility is so good. Our friend Martyr Ekrem Karakaya was a very good person. I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to work with him. Unfortunately, good people die early. It is very nice that our doctor friend is living here in such a nice facility. I would like to thank everyone who contributed, especially our Mayor of Karatay”

Cardiologist Süleyman Kanyılmaz also said the following: “It is a pleasure for us that our friend and brother Ekrem Karakaya is kept alive in such a good primary care healthcare facility. I had the opportunity to work with him for 1.5 years. He was a very good person, a good colleague. Rest in peace. I would also like to thank Karatay Municipality for bringing such a qualified facility to the district”.

Saliha Teke, a nurse working in the same department as Martyr Specialist Ekrem Karakaya, expressed the following; “He was a treasure. He was such a naive person that he wouldn't hurt a fly. We were working with him and I still feel like I'm living that day. I condemn violence in healthcare. No one who sheds sweat for his country and people deserves this. It is a very good idea to name after Ekrem Karakaya here. I would like to thank everyone who contributed."
