The "Child Traffic Training Parks Project", conducted in many cities of Turkey with the cooperation of the Ministry of Interior and National Education, was put into practice in 2022 in Karatay.

Thousands of students have taken advantage of the Karatay Traffic Training Park, which was built by the Karatay Municipality on an area of 8,900 square meters in the Ulubatlı Hasan Neighbourhood, where children can learn the traffic culture both theoretically and practically.

6,800 GRADE 4 STUDENTS TOOK THE ADVANTAGE OF TRAINING IN THIS TERM

The last program of the training provided for all grade 4 students in the district was completed with the participation of  Hasan Kılca, the Mayor of Karatay,  Engin Dinç, the Konya Provincial Police Chief, Hüseyin Şahin, the Traffic Branch Director of Provincial Gendarmerie Command and Sami Sağdıç, the Karatay District Director of National Education.

During the 2022-2023 Education Period, Grade 4 primary school students brought to Karatay Traffic Training Park by municipal service vehicles first attended theoretical pieces of training enriched with animated films by expert trainers and traffic police officers at the Provincial Police Department and Provincial Gendarmerie Command at the Simulation Center.

Then, in the area where a miniature city is animated, where there are watchtowers, traffic training tracks, tunnels, pedestrian overpasses, crossroads, and pedestrian crossings,  this time, practical training was given by expert trainers and traffic police officers charged at the Provincial Police Department and Provincial Gendarmerie Command. In the Traffic Training Park, the Grade 4 students learned the traffic rules using battery-powered vehicles and having fun with the trainers.

FUTURE GENERATIONS ARE RAISING MORE CONSCIOUSLY HERE

Hasan Kılca, the Mayor of Karatay, stated that the training for the 2022-2023 term has been completed successfully and without any problems, and thanked everyone who contributed to the project.

Mayor Hasan Kılca said; “We, the Karatay Municipality, continue to provide all kinds of support for the training of our children, who are the guarantee of our future. In this context, we completed this term's part of the training in our Karatay Traffic Training Park, which we built in our Ulubatlı Hasan Neighborhood. Karatay Traffic Training Park has become a new value for our district with its simulation center, watchtower, traffic training track, tunnel, pedestrian overpass, pedestrian crossings, intersection/crossroads, mini parking area, bicycle path, open parking lot, and children's playground. So far, 6,800 Grade 4 primary school students trained throughout our district have both become conscious about traffic and have fun. As of today, the training for this term has been completed. We will continue these pieces of training in the future as well. Future generations continue to grow up more consciously here.

TRAFFIC TRAINING AT EARLY AGES MAKES THINGS EASY

Engin Dinç, the Konya Provincial Police Chief, who did not leave Karatay students alone in the last training program for the term, also underlined that Karatay Traffic Training Park is an important service for Konya.

Engin Dinç said; “First of all, I would like to thank the Mayor of Karatay for bringing such a nice facility to our district, our city, and our country. The traffic training park project initiated by our Ministry of Interior is the one that can be a solution to the traffic problem in our country. Our students are very glad at this facility, which we opened last year. As law enforcement agencies, we believe that providing such training at an early age will make things much easier in the future and can greatly reduce the accidents that may occur. At this point, both our police, our municipality, and our gendarmerie are carrying out a very good training project with our children. I hereby congratulate our organizations, especially our Karatay Municipality.  Hence, I wish the families to follow the advice of their children, who are now traffic detectives, and to show more sensitivity to traffic rules.”

BOTH AN UNFORGETTABLE MEMORY FOR OUR CHILDREN AND AN IMPORTANT STAGE FOR THEIR FUTURE

Sami Sağdıç, the Karatay District Director of National Education, said that as the education environment, they care about every single effort to raise traffic awareness for children.

Sami Sağdıç said; “As of today, we are completing the 2022-2023 term of the training given in our Traffic Training Park. The traffic training course, given theoretically to the Grade 4 students in our schools, is given here both theoretically and practically with the cooperation of the Provincial Police Department and Gendarmerie Command, Karatay Municipality, and our District Directorate of National Education. It is both an unforgettable memory and a valuable step for our future that our children see and experience this training practically at this age. In this sense, I would like to thank everyone who provided and contributed training.”
