However, we attach special importance to this project. Because we know that this project is a completely different project with its spiritual dimension rather than its material aspect, and it is the finest and most valuable acceleration of social municipality. We are happy to add the most special link to our service chain, acting within the framework of our responsibility, following the hadith of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAV), who said, “He is not a believer whose stomach is filled while his neighbor goes hungry”. HIGH-CAPACITY SOUP KITCHEN WILL OPEN DOORS TO THE HOMELESS

Hüseyin Üzülmez, the Chairperson of Red Crescent Konya Branch, thanked Hasan Kılca, the Mayor of Karatay, for the new soup kitchen building to be added to Konya, and said that when the soup kitchen building is put into service, it will serve the homeless.

Hüseyin Üzülmez said, “Our Karatay Municipality allocated us this land. When Hasan Kılca conveyed our situation to our Mayor, we said let's be a charity partner here, and today we are laying the foundation of the soup kitchen building. Kızılay has a soup kitchen.

In this soup kitchen, we have been serving food to 500 people a day for about 100 years. However, during the pandemic we are experiencing, this figure has increased to 2000 thousand. Our building has become inadequate. In this respect, our conditions were difficult. We hope the new soup kitchen will serve 2,500 people in need a day. In extraordinary situations, this figure can reach 5.000 to 6.000. There is another important detail in our project, there will be a dining hall for the helpless and the homeless for 80 people. The soup kitchen culture comes from our history. The soup kitchen culture comes from our history. Because our ancestors left inns and provided free meals here. These cultures and traditions continue by our foundations and the Red Crescent soup kitchen culture. We acted with the principle that "the one who does good is like the one who does good". Our Mayor supported this idea. I want to thank the Mayor of Karatay, who provided great support to our Red Crescent in such an important service. I hope that our institution, on which we will lay this foundation, will lead to charity for our country and our city. Hopefully, we will realize the opening of the service as soon as we have laid the foundation"

Thank you very much to our Mayor and Chairperson of the Branch. We have also become partners in this work. This will be the 30th soup kitchen of our Kızılay. We have soup kitchens all over Turkey, from Ağrı to Edirne, from Samsun to İskenderun. Food is served to 36.000 people every single day. In exceptional circumstances, our capacity can be doubled. We also have mobile soup kitchens. We attempt to be with those in need through our soup kitchens with the support of our people. This soup kitchen will also be a very functional place. At the same time, let this be a place that produces food. Let the traditional dishes of Konya be produced by master chefs here. In other words, let this soup kitchen be a place that produces the traditional dishes of Konya. Those who learn this will also earn their food. Good luck to this beautiful soup kitchen in Konya”

Konya will continue to be the center of charity by leading the way in this regard as in every field. Kızılay is also a representative of our foundation tradition. Kızılay harmonizes with Konya and Kızılay harmonizes with Konya very well. These two beauties complement each other. Kızılay has benefits not only for the participants but also for benevolent. That is to say, we also need to benefact. Konya reveals an example of this today. Today, I want to thank our Mayor of Karatay and the Chairperson of Red Crescent Konya Branch, who contributed to the creation of this valuable work. I wish the soup kitchen to bring good luck”.
